In order to mitigate the impacted areas and damaged in the region and encourage the community the importance of caring for our planet, the port of Dos Bocas sixth consecutive year of activities performed in the Ejido Reforestation Andres Garcia and R / A The Flores, resulting in a total of more than 300 hectares and over 300 thousand trees planted mangrove.

Thus in 2010 the activities are planting 50,000 thousand red mangrove plants and 10,000 black and sea grape plants on 60 hectares, where the main activities carried out seed collection, nursery construction, bags filled with substrate and seeds, location of areas for reforestation, maintenance of nurseries, reforestation, and monitoring and evaluation.

It is important to mention the virtues of the mangroves, as this is an irreplaceable and unique ecosystem, home to an incredible biodiversity as species of fish, molluscs and crustaceans, for what is considered one of the five most productive ecological units worldwide. Mangroves are performing tasks that allow the natural balance and flood control, erosion control, retention of sediments and water desalination entering land, storm protection, among others.

The Port of Dos Bocas shows that it is an institution with various projects under development in commerce, tourism, oil and industrial promoting through these a strong focus on social responsibility and active participation for sustainable development.
