The Ministry of Communications and Transport and the Port Authority of Dos Bocas, authorized the installation of an Asphalt and Petroleum By-products storage thanks facility in the Port Multipurpose Terminal, where optionally it will be possible to install and operate a manufacturing plant for asphalt products.

According to the public bid basis published on September 20th 2011 in the Mexican Official Journal, the project will be developed in a 16,300 square meters inland area (no waterfront) and will generate 250 jobs.

This new facility was awarded to the company Asfaltos Mesoamericanos S.A. de C.V., with a total investment of $ 43 million pesos under a BOT (Built Operate and Transfer) contract, with initial term of 10 years, renewable for up to two periods of 5 years.

By these business projects, the Port of Dos Bocas has turned as one of the leading supply ports of the Gulf of Mexico, developing infrastructure and generating benefits to its influence region and the country.
